NongHyup Bank announced on the 4th that it received the 2025 Blockchain Contribution Minister's Commendation in the group category, awarded by the Ministry of Science and ICT, in recognition of its contributions to industry revitalization through technology development and dissemination in the blockchain field.
The "2025 Blockchain Promotion Week", hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by KISA (Korea Internet & Security Agency), is an event that promotes the practical spread of blockchain technology and institutional development. It awards commendations to individuals and organizations with clear contributions to the promotion of domestic blockchain technology and industry.
As the chair company of OBDIA (Open Blockchain·DID Association), NongHyup Bank has led the establishment of a stablecoin division and has taken the lead in building a next-generation financial environment. It also actively participated in central bank digital currency usability tests and demonstrated its blockchain technological capabilities by successfully carrying out KISA's blockchain private-sector concentration and dissemination project.
