Bitcoin payment spread accelerates in the U.S. Midwest
Summary
- It reported that Bitcoin payments are rapidly spreading into everyday life in the U.S. Midwest.
- Local shops are accepting payment for goods in Bitcoin, and community meetups are increasing.
- Experts say the Midwest's values of financial autonomy and decentralization align with the spread of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin use in the United States is spreading into everyday payments centered not only in financial hubs like New York and San Francisco, but also in central regions such as Oklahoma.
On the 6th (local time), according to CoinDesk, a recent episode of 'The Clear Crypto Podcast' featured Oklahoma-based broadcaster and educator Matthew Moore, who said, "Bitcoin has now become a part of everyday life in Oklahoma."
Moore said, "Bitcoin adoption is happening actively in small towns in the U.S. Midwest, not in the commonly known tech-centric cities," and added, "Local shops are accepting payment for goods in Bitcoin, and meetups within the local community are rapidly increasing."
He also said, "Recently, with a fellow host, I paid for a beer at a pub in Oklahoma with Bitcoin," and added, "While this is still a rare example worldwide, it is becoming more common in the U.S. Midwest."
Experts view this movement as linked to 'cultural alignment.' The Midwest, including Oklahoma, has strong political and social values that emphasize 'financial autonomy' and 'limited government interference,' and analysts say these naturally align with Bitcoin's philosophy centered on decentralization.
