Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said on Rumble's Q3 2025 investor call that "along with the Northern Data acquisition, we have signed a $150 million GPU services contract and a $100 million advertising contract."

Meanwhile, acquisitions of AI infrastructure companies by the virtual asset (cryptocurrency) industry have surged this year. In January, blockchain analysis firm Chainalysis acquired AI fraud-detection startup Alterya for $150 million, and in August Bitcoin miner MARA Holdings acquired a 64% stake in French AI and cloud infrastructure firm Exaion for $168 million.
