Kyrgyzstan has issued a stablecoin worth $50 million (about 73 billion won).

According to Unfolded on the 12th (local time), Kyrgyzstan recently issued a national stablecoin 'KGST' worth $50 million. Earlier, the Kyrgyz government announced last month plans to issue a stablecoin linked to its national currency, the som.

KGST was issued on the BNB Chain. Kyrgyzstan plans to register the stablecoin in the 'National Register of Digital Assets'.

Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan is also pursuing the introduction of a central bank digital currency (CBDC).
