Despite Bitcoin's collapse below $90,000…MetaPlanet: "Accumulation strategy unchanged"

'Japan's version of "Strategy" MetaPlanet' said it will maintain its accumulation strategy despite the recent Bitcoin (BTC) price decline.

Simon Gerovich, MetaPlanet CEO, said on the 18th (local time) via X, "Even on days when the (cryptocurrency) market is volatile like today, there is no change to our strategy." CEO Gerovich said, "Short-term (Bitcoin) volatility can be unsettling," and added, "(However) we will continue to focus on long-term value creation."

MetaPlanet, a Japanese listed company, started as a hotel operator in 2010 but transformed into a Bitcoin accumulation company in April last year. MetaPlanet's Bitcoin holdings are about 30,800, the largest among Asian companies.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin's price fell sharply that day, dropping below $90,000. As of 3:25 PM that day on CoinMarketCap, Bitcoin was trading at $89,891.1, down 5.32% from the previous day.
