U.S. Nasdaq-listed Cypherpunk Technologies (Cypherpunk Technologies·formerly Leap Therapeutics) has made an additional purchase of Zcash (ZEC) worth US$18 million (approximately KRW 26 billion).

Cypherpunk said on the 18th (local time) that it had purchased approximately 29,869 ZEC. At current value, this amounts to US$18 million, with an average purchase price of US$602.63.

Earlier, on the 12th of this month, Cypherpunk announced it was accumulating Zcash. After adopting a Zcash-centered digital asset treasury strategy (DAT), Cypherpunk also changed its name from Leap Therapeutics to Cypherpunk Technologies. Cypherpunk said, "Just as Bitcoin has been proven to be 'digital gold,' we consider Zcash to be digital privacy in the form of an asset," adding, "In a world lacking privacy protection, privacy is the most precious asset."

Meanwhile, as of 10:13 p.m. that day, Zcash was trading on CoinMarketCap at US$554.26, down 18.65% from the previous day.
