Dave Portnoy, founder of the online sports betting platform Barstool Sports, has purchased $1 million worth of XRP (XRP).
On the 18th (local time), according to crypto asset (cryptocurrency) media U.Today, Portnoy, apart from this XRP purchase, additionally bought approximately $400,000 worth of Ethereum (ETH) and $750,000 worth of Bitcoin (BTC).
Portnoy has previously disclosed that, as of December 2024, he held $1.3 million worth of XRP and $1.5 million worth of Bitcoin. He added $1 million worth of XRP earlier this year and reportedly sold some XRP in July.
Portnoy has long openly shown a propensity to invest in crypto assets, and this large-scale repurchase, made at a time of increased XRP price volatility, has attracted market attention.
