Summary
- Cloudflare's service outage reportedly caused temporary access disruptions to global virtual asset platforms.
- Changpeng Zhao emphasized that even in this situation, the blockchain kept working.
- U.Today reported that distributed-node systems like Bitcoin continued operating regardless of centralized infrastructure outages.

Amid a Cloudflare service outage that temporarily disrupted web-based virtual asset (cryptocurrency) services and major online platforms worldwide, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) emphasized the persistence of the blockchain.
On the 19th, according to virtual asset (cryptocurrency) specialist media U.Today, on the 18th (local time) Cloudflare experienced a large-scale outage while providing core network services such as CDN, DDoS defense, and DNS. As a result, some global platforms like ChatGPT and X (formerly Twitter) and several cryptocurrency frontends experienced temporary access disruptions.
That day CZ emphasized through X that "the blockchain kept working."
U.Today said the outage was an example showing that as dependence on centralized cloud infrastructure increases, the overall system's vulnerability grows. It also explained that in structures where distributed nodes independently execute the protocol, operation is maintained regardless of cloud service interruptions, as with Bitcoin.
Cloudflare later conducted investigations and recovery work, and most services are now restored.
