The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)'s Investor Advisory Committee will hold a public meeting on the 4th of next month (local time) on the topics of changes in corporate governance regulation and the potential tokenization of equity securities.

According to an SEC notice on the 25th, the meeting will be held online from 10:00 a.m. (local time) and will be streamed live on the SEC website.

The committee has arranged two panel discussions. The first session will focus on 'changes in corporate governance regulation,' and the second session will discuss 'how the issuance, trading, and settlement processes of equity securities can be tokenized within the existing regulatory framework.'

The committee will also review potential recommendations regarding disclosures about the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on corporate operations and financial reporting.
