Kalshi, data partnership with CNN…Prediction market information to be actively reflected in news

Prediction market platform Kalshi said on the 2nd (local time) that it had entered a data integration partnership with CNN. Under this partnership, CNN will name Kalshi as its official prediction market data partner and will use Kalshi's real-time probability data across major news programs.

Kalshi is the United States' first and only federally regulated prediction market exchange, a company that built a market where real-world events such as elections, weather, and cultural events can be traded like financial assets.

CNN expects Kalshi's data to play an important role in strengthening its reporting through this partnership. The plan is to increase the predictability of political and social issues based on real-time probability data and to provide viewers with more immediate and reliable information.

The partnership will proceed in three main ways. First, CNN senior data analyst Harry Enten will analyze Kalshi's real-time prediction data and directly reflect it in broadcasts. CNN will also establish a real-time news ticker based on Kalshi's indicators. Finally, the news department and production staff will use Kalshi's political, news, and cultural data in story composition and visualization work.

CNN said, "Prediction market data is complementary to traditional polls in that it shows market-based probabilities of future events," and "it will contribute to improving reporting accuracy and explanatory power."
