An error related to Prysm occurred on the Ethereum (ETH) mainnet.

The Ethereum Foundation said on the 4th (local time) via its official X account, "(Currently) an error related to the Prysm consensus client is occurring on the mainnet." Prysm is a representative client software (SW) responsible for consensus functions in Ethereum's proof-of-stake (PoS) network.

The Ethereum Foundation said, "If you are using Prysm, you must reconfigure the 'consensus layer (CL)' node," and added, "If you are using another client, you are not affected by this error."

Ethereum has also prepared a temporary mitigation. Ethereum said, "All nodes should disable Prysm functionality so they do not process stale data," and "For this, add a specific flag to the 'beacon node'."

Meanwhile, Ethereum applied the Fusaka upgrade to the mainnet that day. The core of the Fusaka upgrade is to improve the network's 'scalability,' including greatly increasing Ethereum layer 2's blobs-per-block throughput through the blockchain technology 'PeerDAS (PeerDAS).' The Ethereum Foundation said, "(Ethereum) community members will continuously monitor for errors over the next 24 hours."
