JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon said he is ready to actively utilize blockchain and stablecoin technologies, and assessed that the related technologies can increase the efficiency of financial services.

On the 9th (local time), according to Benzinga, Dimon told Fox Business in an interview, "Blockchain technology is a technology that actually works and is becoming increasingly efficient and effective." He explained, "Smart contracts are also a realistic technology, and we are developing a stablecoin," and added, "We will pursue tokenization in the same way."

Dimon mentioned the possibility of improving payment systems, saying, "If we can provide faster, cheaper, and better services to customers, we will use such technologies."

On the regulatory side, he emphasized the need to build 'guardrails (safety measures)'. He said, "All rules banks must follow, such as regulations, pricing, anti-money laundering, and customer identification, should apply," and "I hope regulations that allow reasonable and fair use will be put in place."

Earlier, JPMorgan last month expanded support to allow 'JPM Coin' to be transferred on the Base network. JPMorgan plans to launch an institutional lending program that provides Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) as collateral by the end of next year.

Meanwhile, the media reported that Dimon shows a positive stance toward blockchain and stablecoins but remains skeptical about Bitcoin itself.
