"Issuing defense industry tokens"... Hanwha Investment & Securities rolls up its sleeves for STO

Jang Byung-ho, CEO of Hanwha Investment & Securities, told a reporter of this paper in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the 9th, "Stocks, bonds, real estate, artworks and other investment products can all be tokenized." Regarding defense-based RWAs, he said, "Funds and corporate bonds, etc., can be tokenized," and explained, "They can provide alternative investment opportunities to investors and efficient fundraising opportunities to the defense industry."
Hanwha Investment & Securities plans to introduce a security token offering (STO) platform for retail customers in June next year. Jang said, "We are also planning a platform for high-net-worth clients that can configure eight asset classes, such as stocks, private products, and digital assets, into a single portfolio."
When asked about additional mergers and acquisitions (M&A) plans, Jang said, "Any company across the value chain of digital asset issuance, management, and distribution is a strategic partner target." Regarding plans to sell Hanwha Investment & Securities' stake in Dunamu (5.94%), he emphasized, "We are placing more weight on collaboration with Dunamu than on a sale."
