On the 10th (local time), He Yi said via X, "Early this morning, a WeChat account that I hardly used was hacked," and "In the process, some users bought a certain meme coin without much consideration and suffered losses."
He also mentioned a compensation plan. He Yi said, "I will personally prepare some Binance Coin (BNB) and conduct an airdrop to users who traded meme coins during the time the WeChat account was hacked and incurred realized losses," adding, "The airdrop will be fully distributed within 24 hours."
He Yi emphasized, "Neither I nor Binance employees recommend any meme coins." He Yi said, "Such content (meme coins) has no long-term viability and the tokens also lack a foundation to support their price," and added, "In the future, even if similar incidents occur, there will be no compensation payments."
