Tether launches on-device AI health platform…switches biometric data processing to local handling
Summary
- Tether said it unveiled QVAC Health, an on-device AI-based health platform that enables local processing of users' biometric information.
- QVAC Health analyzes encrypted health data on the device, and the AI models are provided in a peer-to-peer manner without a central server.
- Tether said it is pursuing the service as part of a privacy-centered strategy and plans to update it to directly read wearable data without manufacturer servers.

Tether unveiled QVAC Health, an on-device AI-based platform that processes personal health data only on the device. The company applied a technical architecture that minimizes the transmission of users' biometric information to external servers.
According to Cointelegraph on the 11th (local time), Tether announced, "QVAC Health is a platform that encrypts health data generated by various wearables and apps and analyzes it only on the device." Tether explained, "The AI models for analysis are also downloaded directly between devices in a peer-to-peer manner and do not go through a central server."
According to the report, QVAC Health is configured to allow viewing activity, sleep, symptoms and medication records on a single dashboard. The company said, "It also provides a computer vision feature that estimates calories and nutritional components based on food photos." All processing is executed in the local environment.
Paolo Ardoino, CEO, said, "QVAC Health is a neutral space where various health data can be gathered," and added, "It is an example that demonstrates Tether's privacy-centered local AI strategy." Tether plans to apply Bluetooth Low Energy connection functionality in a future update to directly read some wearable data without manufacturer servers.
According to the report, this service is part of Tether's QVAC project within its data division. The project aims for an on-device AI framework that implements various applications such as translation tools and work-assistance features without a central server.
