The global decentralized prediction market platform Polymarket has had some users recently suffer hacking damage.

Polymarket said via its official Discord account on the 23rd (local time) that "after discovering and resolving a security issue that affected some users recently," "(the issue) occurred due to a vulnerability in a third-party authentication provider." The specific scale of the damage was not disclosed. The Block reported that "(Polymarket) did not disclose which third-party authentication provider, the core of the security issue, it was."

This hacking appears to have targeted users who signed up to Polymarket via wallet infrastructure provider Magic Labs. The Block said "this hacking incident is similar to the security incident that occurred at Polymarket in September 2024," and "at that time several users who logged in with Google accounts suffered wallet hacks."
