On the 2nd (local time) in New York trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 0.66% from the previous close. The S&P 500 rose 0.19%, but the tech-heavy Nasdaq fell 0.03% and remained slightly weak. With the overall market direction unclear, buying concentrated on the virtual asset theme.
Virtual asset exchanges and infrastructure companies led the gains. The U.S.'s largest virtual asset exchange Coinbase (COIN) jumped 4.59% from the previous close, and stablecoin issuer Circle (CRCL) and virtual asset exchange Gemini (GEMI) rose 5.26% and 4.44%, respectively. The exchange for institutional investors Bullish (BLSH) also rose 3.67%. 'Bitcoin-themed' MicroStrategy (MSTR)** rose 3.43%, showing a steady trend.
In particular, Bitmine (BMNR), which recently drew attention due to a large capital raise proposal by chairman Tom Lee of Bitmine, surged 14.88%. KindlyMD (NAKA), a healthcare and blockchain convergence company, jumped 16.26%, recording the highest increase in the sector that day.
Mining and payment-related stocks also showed strength. Alt5Sigma (ALTS) surged 10%, and Bitcoin Services (BTCS) and Bit Digital (BTBT) rose 8.71% and 7.94%, respectively. SharpLink Gaming (SBET), which holds Ethereum, rose 8.39%, and Etherzilla (ETHZ) closed up 4.29%.
