China "Deeply shocked by U.S. measures on Venezuela… strongly condemns unilateral·illegal actions"

On the 5th (local time), according to economic breaking news channel Walter Bloomberg, China strongly objected to the U.S. measures related to Venezuela.

That day China's deputy UN ambassador said regarding the Venezuela matter, "China is deeply shocked by the United States' unilateral, illegal and coercive actions and strongly condemns them."

He pointed out that the measures are acts that undermine international law and the international order, and emphasized that the sovereignty and legitimate rights and interests of the relevant country must be respected. This remark came as controversy over the detention of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his spouse spread to the international community.
