- The pilot terms are designed at an annual 1.5% yield over a three-month period, with access to both principal Bitcoin and returns at the end.

Bitcoin infrastructure project 'GOAT Network' said on the 17th that it will launch a pilot non-custodial Bitcoin (BTC) yield program in Mexico in partnership with Latin American fintech platform 'DitoBanx'.
Through the pilot, DitoBanx users in Mexico will be able to earn Bitcoin-denominated returns while maintaining self-custody, keeping their Bitcoin in their own possession. The two firms highlighted as a key differentiator a structure in which no third party holds user assets, unlike existing custodial Bitcoin yield products.
The program will be offered by integrating GOAT Network’s Bitcoin yield solution, 'Safebox,' into DitoBanx’s compliance-ready mobile application. DitoBanx will handle regulatory and onboarding functions such as know-your-customer (KYC) and fiat on-ramps, while GOAT Network will provide a Bitcoin yield structure that operates without asset custody.

The Safebox pilot is designed on the premise of principal protection, and returns are paid in Bitcoin. The source of yield is based on GOAT Network’s decentralized sequencer rewards. This enables users to participate in a yield product without selling or wrapping their Bitcoin, or transferring ownership or control of the assets.
Pilot terms offer a yield of about 1.5% per year, prorated over a three-month period. At the end of the pilot, users are designed to be able to access both their principal Bitcoin and any accrued returns.
Kevin Liu, a core contributor at GOAT Network, said, "Through our partnership with DitoBanx, we have been able to provide everyday users in Mexico with Bitcoin-based yield opportunities," adding that it is "an important step in presenting long-term sustainable financial options in emerging markets."
Guillermo Contreras, CEO for Latin America at DitoBanx, said, "This pilot is a turning point that allows users to hold Bitcoin and earn returns while maintaining control of their private keys," adding that it is "a project that clearly demonstrates the direction of building a user-centric financial infrastructure that does not compromise sovereignty, transparency, or security."
