It was reported on the 21st that Lee Seung-yoon, co-founder of Story (Story, IP), officially attended the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting (the Davos Forum) in Davos, Switzerland, exchanging views with global political, business and tech leaders on artificial intelligence (AI) and intellectual property (IP).
The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting is held each year, bringing together heads of state, chief executives (CEOs) of global companies, and leaders from academia and civil society to discuss the world economy, technology and geopolitical issues.
This year’s forum drew top-level figures from about 65 countries including U.S. President Donald Trump, as well as executives such as Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis. Also in attendance were World Bank President Ajay Banga and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva.
The Davos Forum’s “Innovator Communities,” to which Lee was officially invited, is a program attended only by leaders of unicorns—hyper-growth innovators valued at more than $1 billion. It was reported that prominent AI scholars and Big Tech executives took part in large numbers, including Dario Amodei, co-founder of Anthropic; Andrew Ng, founder of DeepLearning.AI; and Sarah Friar, chief financial officer (CFO) of OpenAI.
At the session, Story was presented as a case that can bring the provenance, rights and compensation framework for AI training data into mainstream policy discussions. In particular, the explanation said it drew attention for designing on-chain mechanisms for how contributions from content and data can be measured and allocated within the AI value chain.
Story’s hallmark is an on-chain IP registration and management protocol designed to clarify ownership of content and data, and to ensure that value created in the AI training process is returned to creators.
The industry expects competition to intensify to secure IP infrastructure as Web3 and AI converge. An industry official who attended Davos said, “Even at Davos, amid AI’s rapid rise, there were active discussions on compensation structures for IP and AI training data,” adding, “Protocols like Story could emerge as one pillar in future discussions on global standards.”
