Solana Mobile has launched an airdrop of its native SKR token for users and developers of its Android-based smartphone, the “Seeker.” The move aims to strengthen a framework that directly grants ownership and rewards to participants in the mobile ecosystem.

According to The Block on the 21st (local time), Solana Mobile has initiated the SKR token airdrop for Seeker users and participants in the Solana-based dApp ecosystem. Seeker users can claim SKR directly via the wallet preinstalled on the device, and the claim window is 90 days. Any unclaimed allocation within the period will be returned to the airdrop pool.

Solana Mobile said, “Seeker and SKR are built on the idea that those who use the network should own the network,” adding that “more than 100,000 people can now claim a stake in this ecosystem.” Developers who distributed “high-quality apps” in the dApp store during Seeker Season 1 are also included in this airdrop.

SKR is the native token responsible for governance, incentives, and the economic structure across the Solana Mobile ecosystem. The total supply is 10 billion tokens, of which 30% was allocated to the launch airdrop and initial unlocks.

Solana Mobile is also encouraging Seeker users receiving the airdrop to participate in staking. SKR adopts a linear issuance model in which an inflation event occurs every 48 hours. The annual inflation rate declines by 25% each year from an initial 10%, and once it reaches 2%, it is fixed at that level.

The airdrop coincided with the launch of the Seeker Season 2 campaign. Season 2 includes new apps, rewards, and early-access programs centered on DeFi, gaming, payments, trading, and DePIN.

Seeker is the follow-up model to Solana Mobile’s first device, the “Saga,” and comes preloaded with the “Seed Vault,” a hardware security module, as well as the Solana dApp Store. Solana Mobile said preorders for Seeker surpassed 150,000 units last August, and the device is slated to ship to more than 50 countries.
