Summary
- Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was reported to be willing to join OpenAI’s future funding round and to have shown long-term interest in an IPO as well.
- Nvidia said it supplies high-performance GPUs essential for AI model training and inference, and maintains close collaboration with OpenAI.
- OpenAI has lifted its valuation through large-scale fundraising, and Huang’s comments were interpreted as a factor once again stoking expectations for an OpenAI listing.

Nvidia Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jensen Huang is reportedly willing to participate in a future investment round by artificial intelligence (AI) company OpenAI, and has also shown long-term interest in an OpenAI initial public offering (IPO).
According to Walter Bloomberg, an account that posts breaking financial news, Huang said in an interview with CNBC on the 3rd (local time), “If OpenAI conducts a new funding round in the future, we will consider it,” adding, “Ultimately, if OpenAI pursues an IPO, I’d like to participate.”
He is said to have cited the broader growth potential of the AI industry and to have highly valued OpenAI’s strategic importance within the ecosystem. He did not, however, comment on the specific investment size or timing.
Nvidia supplies high-performance graphics processing units (GPUs) essential for AI model training and inference, and maintains close collaborative ties with major AI companies including OpenAI. Market observers say Nvidia’s potential participation as an investor could further deepen the partnership between the two.
In recent years, OpenAI has rapidly boosted its valuation through large-scale fundraising, and the possibility of an IPO has long been discussed. Huang’s remarks are seen as a factor rekindling expectations for an OpenAI listing.
