A developer in the crypto industry has unveiled an experimental platform designed to let AI agents directly hire humans to carry out real-world tasks. The move is being seen as an example of automation experiments long pursued in the crypto developer community expanding into the off-chain realm.

According to Cointelegraph on the 3rd (local time), Alex, a developer affiliated with the decentralized finance platform UMA Protocol, launched a website called “Rent-a-Human” where AI agents can hire people by the hour.

The platform is structured so that individuals set their own hourly rates, and AI agents then summon them to perform real-world tasks such as running errands, attending meetings, taking photos, and signing documents. Alex described it as an execution layer that connects AI to the real world beyond the digital domain.

Alex said, “There are no plans to integrate cryptocurrency or tokens into this project.” He added that issuing a token could easily morph into a speculative element and lead to user losses, which he took into account.

The industry views this case as part of a broader trend in which experiments by crypto developers—built on smart contracts and automation technologies—are extending into human labor and real-world resources. Analysts say the model, in which AI agents move beyond digital assets to trigger actions in the physical world, is now being put to a full-fledged test.
