Coinbase, a US cryptocurrency exchange, has launched a prediction-market platform, 'Coinbase Predict'.
According to industry sources on the 4th (local time), Coinbase recently rolled out Coinbase Predict. To support the service, Coinbase also created a dedicated X account for Coinbase Predict. Wu Blockchain reported that "(Coinbase Predict) is available across all 50 US states."
The launch is drawing attention despite frictions with regulators. Earlier, Nevada regulators filed a civil lawsuit against Coinbase the previous day (the 3rd), alleging it offered unlicensed betting products tied to sports event contracts.
Nevada has taken similar action against Polymarket, the world's largest prediction-market platform. Last week, a Nevada court approved a temporary restraining order directing Polymarket's operator to halt offering event-based betting to state residents.
