Korbit, a virtual asset (cryptocurrency) exchange, said on the 5th that it has introduced a customer verification (KYC) method using a "Mobile ID."
Mobile ID verification is a feature that allows users to easily authenticate their identity through the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s "Mobile ID" app installed on a smartphone, without needing a physical resident registration card or driver’s license.
Under the previous customer verification process, users had to photograph a physical ID with a camera. With the introduction of Mobile ID, however, instant verification is now possible through integration with the Mobile ID app without taking a photo of an ID, making it easier to complete the customer verification process.
Lee Jung-woo, Korbit’s CTO and CPO, said, "With the adoption of Mobile ID, customers can conveniently use Korbit anytime and anywhere even if they do not have a physical ID," adding, "We will continue to do our best to improve our services so that customers can trade virtual assets in a convenient and secure environment."
