A Nevada court in the United States has rejected a regulator’s order seeking to suspend Coinbase’s prediction-market service.
According to Cointelegraph on the 5th (local time), the Nevada court made the decision a day earlier (the 4th). The court plans to hold a hearing on the matter next week.
Previously, the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) recently sought a temporary restraining order, arguing that Coinbase’s prediction-market service amounts to unlicensed betting. Coinbase maintains that the Nevada regulator’s guidance is overly broad beyond sports betting and also encroaches on the jurisdiction of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
Meanwhile, Tennessee regulators have also recently ordered prediction-market operators such as Kalshi and Polymarket to halt their services.
