Summary

  • Bitcoin new-investor capital inflows have turned negative, and selling pressure is not being absorbed by fresh capital, it said.
  • On a 30-day basis, cumulative fund flows are around -$2.6 billion, and even during price declines there are no new-investor inflows or the past bull-phase inflow surge pattern, it noted.
  • Unless new capital inflows recover, upside moves are likely to remain a corrective rebound rather than a structural rebound, and the market is showing early-bear-market traits accompanied by shrinking liquidity and a decline in participants, it said.

Capital inflows from new Bitcoin (BTC) investors have recently turned ‘negative,’ data showed.

An IT Tech contributor to CryptoQuant said on the 10th (local time) via CryptoQuant, “In the Bitcoin market, new-investor capital inflows have flipped to negative,” adding, “Current selling pressure is not being absorbed by fresh capital.”

IT Tech pointed to recent inflow trends. “On a 30-day basis, cumulative fund flows are around -$2.6 billion,” he said, noting that “even during price declines, there is no sign of new-investor inflows.” He added that “the surge-inflow pattern observed in past bull phases is also not being seen.”

He analyzed that “in the early stages of a bear market, declining prices often trigger fund outflows.” He went on to say that “the current flow resembles the transition period after a new all-time high (ATH),” adding that “‘marginal buyers’ are leaving the market, and prices are being driven not by rising net inflows but by internal capital rotation.”

IT Tech projected that “unless new capital inflows recover, upside moves are more likely to remain a corrective rebound rather than a structural rebound.” He said the market is “showing typical characteristics of the early phase of a bear market, where shrinking liquidity and a decline in participants are unfolding simultaneously.”
