Summary
- Changpeng Zhao (CZ) said a report claiming an internal investigator was fired after discovering Iran-linked transactions doesn’t add up.

Changpeng Zhao (CZ), founder of Binance, pushed back against a report claiming an internal investigator was dismissed after uncovering Iran-linked transactions.
On the 13th (local time), Zhao wrote on his official X (formerly Twitter) that while he “doesn’t know the specifics,” the “report itself doesn’t add up.”
He said that “if the allegations are true, it could also be interpreted that the investigators bear responsibility for failing to block suspicious activity in advance,” adding that “Binance monitors all transactions using anti-money laundering (AML) tools used by law enforcement.”
He went on to say that “anonymous sources—whether disgruntled individuals or those paid to generate FUD—can spin a negative narrative on any issue.”
