Agreement signed with KISA and others

Busan Metropolitan City is moving to upgrade its blockchain-specialized cluster project in partnership with the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA). The city said on the 19th that it signed a business agreement with KISA and Busan Technopark to ensure the successful rollout of the “2026 Blockchain Specialized Cluster Development Project.”
The blockchain-specialized cluster is a project being pursued by Busan and the Ministry of Science and ICT, with a total investment of KRW 20 billion over three years starting in 2024. As the project enters its final stage this year, Busan has joined hands with KISA to boost its effectiveness.
Under the model, KISA will serve as the dedicated lead agency for the project, while Busan Technopark will spearhead on-the-ground, tailored subprojects. Over the past two years, the cluster has delivered results including KRW 17.8 billion in attracted investment and the creation of 123 jobs. In particular, the Busan Port Authority’s “Port-i,” a real-time information-sharing platform for shipping, ports and logistics that has been selected as a designated project for three consecutive years, is expected to undergo pilot testing and be fully commercialized across Busan Port this year.
