Global crypto wallet provider MetaMask is expanding the geographic coverage of its blockchain-based debit card service to the entire United States.
According to CoinDesk on the 26th (local time), MetaMask announced that, after completing a one-year pilot program, it will roll out its debit card service nationwide in the US. Previously, MetaMask had operated a pilot for the card in parts of the US starting in December 2024.
The MetaMask Card was co-developed with global payments company Mastercard and crypto payments firm Baanx. That is why the card can be used at any merchant that accepts Mastercard. It also supports digital wallet payments such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Gal Eldar, MetaMask’s product lead, said, “We designed MetaMask so that crypto can seamlessly integrate into everyday life and the boundary between on-chain and off-chain disappears,” adding, “Tens of thousands of users worldwide are already using the service for everything from coffee to engagement rings.”
