Koscom said on the 3rd that it has implemented an organizational reshuffle to respond flexibly to changes in the capital markets environment and secure future growth engines.
The key pillar of the reshuffle is the expansion and reorganization of the existing Digital Business Division into a Digital Asset Business Division. The aim is to build infrastructure that covers the entire digital-asset market value chain—issuance, distribution and settlement.
Koscom elevated the existing 'Digital Asset Business TF Department,' which had been dedicated to identifying digital-asset-related businesses and marketing, into a formal organization named the 'Digital Asset Business Department.'
It will also establish a new 'Digital Asset Service Department' to take charge of the technology stack, including business application development, distributed ledger and IT infrastructure operations.
The company is also moving to upgrade its IT systems. In response to changes in the capital markets environment at the Korea Exchange, it created a 'Extended Trading Hours Development TF Team.' Through this unit, it plans to ensure systems can be supplied in a stable manner.
In addition, it newly formed a 'KDX Development TF Department' to carry out work including the introduction of a matching engine and the build-out of a distribution platform related to KDX (an OTC exchange for STO distribution).
Kim Do-yeon, head of Koscom’s Management Strategy Division, said, "This organizational reshuffle is aimed at strengthening Koscom’s unrivaled technology leadership amid the rapidly changing capital markets environment and the broader digital transformation trend," adding, "We will pursue future growth engines in parallel with our core role of operating stable IT infrastructure."
