ARK Invest, led by Cathie Wood, bought additional shares of Coinbase and Robinhood after their stocks fell amid geopolitical volatility.

According to a report by The Block on the 3rd (local time), ARK Invest purchased 22,452 shares of Coinbase (COIN) that day. Based on the closing price of $182.36, the stake was worth about $4.09 million. The purchases were made via the ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK), ARK Next Generation Internet ETF (ARKW), and ARK Fintech Innovation ETF (ARKF).

On the same day, it also bought 158,587 shares of Robinhood (HOOD). At the closing price of $76.07, that amounts to about $12.06 million. Combined, the two purchases totaled roughly $16.15 million.

The buying came as the U.S.-Iran standoff amplified volatility across global equities. The Nasdaq Composite fell 1% on the day, while the S&P 500 slid 0.94%. Coinbase closed down 1.55%, and Robinhood dropped 3.44%.

Since 2026, ARK Invest has frequently adjusted its exposure to digital-asset (crypto) related names, maintaining a buy-the-dip approach during drawdowns. In addition to Coinbase and Robinhood, it has also added shares of crypto firms such as Circle and Bullish.

Regulatory filings show that as of March 3, Coinbase accounted for 4.21% of the ARKK ETF, making it the fund’s sixth-largest holding, with a market value of about $281.20 million. Robinhood ranked seventh at 4.07%, while Circle was eighth at 4.05%.

ARK Invest conducts regular rebalancing in line with an internal rule that caps any single holding at about 10% of fund assets, adjusting positions in response to market moves.
