Bithumb, a South Korean digital-asset exchange, said on the 5th that it has expanded support for its “time-weighted average price (TWAP)” feature—previously available only in some environments—to the Bithumb app, PC and mobile web.

The TWAP feature automatically submits orders at market price by evenly splitting the order quantity or amount according to a user-set total order duration and interval. It is primarily used to reduce the market impact of large orders.

Users can select “TWAP” as the order type on the digital-asset trading screen and set the total order amount or quantity, the overall order duration, and the order interval.

TWAP orders can be set up to a maximum of 1 billion won, and the minimum order amount per slice is 5,000 won. If the user has insufficient assets during execution, the remaining orders are automatically canceled.

A Bithumb official said, “Slice trading functions such as TWAP are a strategic execution method that can be widely used—from retail users to institutional investors—from a volatility management perspective,” adding, “As discussions continue on allowing corporate investment, the need to prepare for demand for large-scale trading is also growing.”
