Digital asset manager Bitwise has donated a total of $383,000 to date to support development of the Bitcoin (BTC) network.
According to Cointelegraph on the 4th (local time), Bitwise said it made an additional $233,000 donation that day to support Bitcoin open-source developers.
The donation was funded with 10% of total profits generated by the Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB). At the time of BITB’s launch, Bitwise said it would allocate 10% of total profits to developer support to bolster the Bitcoin ecosystem.
In an official post on X, Bitwise said it is "proud to support the unsung contributors who maintain the Bitcoin network and keep it secure."
The funds are expected to be used to support developers through Bitcoin Brink, OpenSats, and the Bitcoin Development Fund under the Human Rights Foundation.
Previously, in February 2025, Bitwise donated $150,000 based on BITB’s first-year profits. With the additional contribution, cumulative support has risen to $383,000.
