The White House said it expects the military operation against Iran to be concluded within the next four to six weeks.
Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, said at a briefing on the 6th (local time) when asked about the timeline for completing the operation, “We are moving smoothly through the steps to gain control of Iranian airspace,” adding that the operation is proceeding as expected.
On weapons stockpiles, Leavitt dismissed concerns, saying the U.S. has “sufficient reserves of weapons to meet the needs of the Iran operation.”
On the selection of Iran’s next leader, she said, “There are several individuals our intelligence agencies and the U.S. government are reviewing,” adding, “I will not comment beyond that.”
Asked about President Donald Trump’s remark earlier that any agreement with Iran would amount to nothing other than “unconditional surrender,” she said that once the administration determines the objectives of the “Operation Majestic Fury” have been fully achieved, Iran will no longer pose a threat to the United States. “Whether or not they declare surrender themselves, they will be placed in a state of unconditional surrender,” she said.
