U.S. President Donald Trump pointed to Iran as being behind an attack on an Iranian girls’ elementary school last month in which multiple students were reportedly killed.

Speaking aboard Air Force One on the 7th (local time), Trump said, “I think Iran carried out that attack,” adding, “Iran’s weapons are highly inaccurate.”

On the first day of U.S. and Israeli airstrikes on Iran—on the 28th of last month—an airstrike hit a girls’ elementary school in Minab, Hormozgan Province, southern Iran, killing at least 175 people. Many of the victims are believed to have been young schoolgirls.

In connection with the incident, The New York Times (NYT) reported on the 5th that it is highly likely U.S. forces mistakenly struck the school while conducting airstrikes on a naval base of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
