Digital asset investment products recorded net inflows of $619 million, extending the inflow trend despite geopolitical tensions.
According to CoinShares’ weekly report on the 9th, global digital asset investment products saw total net inflows of $619 million over the past week. Strong demand emerged early in the week, with $1.44 billion coming in over the first three trading days, but $829 million flowed out later in the week as some profit-taking took place. The move is attributed to a slight weakening in investor sentiment after rising oil prices offset expectations for easing inflation.
By region, the US led overall flows with net inflows of $646 million. In contrast, Europe, Asia and Canada posted net outflows of $23.8 million, $2.2 million and $3.6 million, respectively.
By asset, Bitcoin accounted for the bulk of inflows at $521 million. However, short-Bitcoin investment products also took in $11.4 million, indicating some divergence in investor sentiment.
Among altcoins, Ethereum recorded net inflows of $88.5 million and Solana $14.6 million. Uniswap and Chainlink also saw inflows of $1.4 million each. By contrast, XRP posted net outflows of $30.3 million, the only major asset to see an exodus of funds.
CoinShares said that “even amid heightened geopolitical tensions, overall fund flows suggest broadly positive investor sentiment toward digital assets.”
