A senior Iranian official pushed back against a U.S. military warning, saying Iran is not afraid of threats.

According to crypto-focused outlet Odaily on the 10th, Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), wrote on social media, “The Iranian people are not afraid of your (the United States and Israel’s) hollow threats.”

He added, “Even forces stronger than you have failed to bring down the Iranian nation.”

The remarks came in response to a warning from U.S. President Donald Trump. Earlier, on the 9th, Trump warned that if Iran blocks oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, the United States would “carry out an attack 20 times more powerful than before.”
