Tensions across the Middle East are escalating after Iran launched drone attacks toward Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

According to the Associated Press on the 10th, Iran fired drones toward Saudi Arabia and Kuwait early that morning (local time).

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense said it shot down drones over the eastern region, where oil production facilities are concentrated. Kuwait’s National Guard also said it intercepted some of the drones over the country’s northern and southern areas.

The attack came amid intensifying conflict in the region. Recent military clashes between Israel and Iran have spread, with several Middle Eastern countries reportedly suffering damage from missile or drone strikes.

U.S. President Donald Trump said the previous day in a meeting with Republican lawmakers that the war could be “a short military operation.” He later warned on social media that if Iran attempts to block the Strait of Hormuz, the United States would significantly escalate its strikes.

Iran said it will decide when the war ends. Ali Mohammad Naini, a spokesperson for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said, “Iran will decide when the war ends.”
