US intelligence has assessed that Iran is preparing to deploy naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
On the 10th (local time), Walter Bloomberg reported that US intelligence believes Iran could lay mines in the Strait of Hormuz using small vessels.
Intelligence officials said Iran is estimated to possess about 2,000–6,000 naval mines, some of which are believed to include equipment from China and Russia in addition to domestically produced Iranian items.
