According to Iran’s presidential office, the two leaders exchanged views during the call on the 10th (local time) regarding the current war, which began with attacks by the United States and Israel. The call took place at Putin’s suggestion.
Putin reaffirmed his opposition to military attacks on Iran. He said Russia is ready to provide all necessary support to bring the regional conflict to an end as soon as possible.
President Pezeshkian expressed gratitude for Russia’s supportive stance. He then argued that the international community should condemn the military actions by the United States and Israel that target civilian facilities and ordinary people.
Earlier, the Kremlin said Putin, in a call with U.S. President Donald Trump, presented proposals for resolving the situation involving Iran.
Meanwhile, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said Russian diplomatic missions in Iran were damaged by the fallout from air strikes. According to TASS, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said an air strike near Isfahan in western Iran jolted the building of Russia’s consulate general.
