Israel has claimed that Ali Larijani, secretary-general of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), was killed in an airstrike.

According to BlockBeats, a media outlet specializing in virtual assets (cryptocurrencies), Israel’s Ministry of Defense said on the 17th that Larijani died during the course of strikes on Iran.

Earlier, the Israeli military was reported to have carried out airstrikes on the previous night targeting a senior figure inside Iran. Local media and international outlets said the operation was conducted as part of an effort to eliminate a key figure linked to external forces operating in Iran.

Israel described the strike as a “major elimination operation that could affect the outcome of the war.” It was also reported that the target was a senior official who had been in hiding in Tehran.

However, Iran’s government and local media have not confirmed whether Larijani is dead, meaning the claim requires further verification.
