A U.S. senator has reaffirmed the determination to pass the 'Clarity Act,' a bill to establish the market structure for digital assets, before year-end.
According to Eleanor Terrett, host of Crypto in America, on the 18th (local time), Wyoming Sen. Cynthia Lummis said, "No matter what happens, we will get this bill across the finish line by the end of this year," adding that "the legislative timeline is proceeding as planned."
She said solutions have been prepared for key sticking points related to stablecoin yield structures.
She also added that negotiations over regulation of decentralized finance (DeFi) have effectively entered the final stage.
The remarks come as concerns have surfaced over potential delays in passing the bill, but suggest that momentum in Congress to advance the legislation within the year remains intact.
