LINE NEXT integrates NEXT Market payments into GameTales’ ‘The Starlight’

LINE NEXT said on the 19th that it has entered into a strategic partnership with game developer GameTales and will support domestic in-game item payment channels for ‘The Starlight’ via the global item marketplace platform ‘NEXT Market.’

The Starlight is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by GameTales, set in a multiverse where multiple dimensions intertwine, and follows players on a journey to find ‘Starlight.’ Since launch, it has topped Google Play’s popularity rankings and continued its momentum by entering the popular games rankings on Apple’s App Store shortly after release.

Through the collaboration, The Starlight players will be able to use country-specific payment methods on NEXT Market to purchase in-game currency, diamonds, and various items. The service is designed to enhance payment convenience and security.

The two companies plan to roll out NEXT Market-exclusive products and joint marketing initiatives, while also linking the service to the global version in the future. They also said they will work to build a user-centric in-game economic ecosystem by introducing a system for trading game assets between users.

Ko Young-soo, CEO of LINE NEXT, said, “Through our collaboration with GameTales, we will provide The Starlight users with a convenient and secure trading environment,” adding, “We will continue to work with a range of global games to broaden the standards for the game item trading market.”

Meanwhile, NEXT Market is a platform that provides a payment and trading environment tailored to global games and is rapidly expanding its user base, centered on East Asia. LINE NEXT plans to continue expanding collaborations with game companies based on its security technology and user-friendly systems.
