U.S. Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis called for the establishment of a clear regulatory framework to foster the digital-asset industry.

On the 19th (local time), Lummis wrote on her X account, "We can no longer go back to a state of regulatory uncertainty," adding, "Digital assets are the future, and now is the time for the United States to provide an environment for the industry to develop."

She previously met with Mike Sellick, Chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), to discuss key issues related to digital-asset market structure.

"Chairman Sellick fully understands the urgency of the current situation," Lummis said, adding, "I look forward to continuing our cooperation to integrate digital assets into the 21st-century financial system."
