A pro-technology political action committee (PAC), the “super PAC” Think Big, has taken aim at a primary candidate, citing past ties to Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF).
According to cryptocurrency-focused outlet CoinDesk on the 20th (local time), Think Big mailed voters a flyer alleging that Alex Bores, a Democratic primary candidate in New York’s 12th Congressional District, received more than $100,000 in indirect support in 2022 from SBF’s political donation network.
It also raised claims that SBF associates are financing Bores’s bid for a seat in the House.
The offensive is seen as another sign that controversy over links between figures in the crypto industry and the political world is resurfacing during the election season.
