Trump signals willingness to strike a deal with Iran… Israel: "Low chance talks will succeed"

Assessments are diverging over the prospects for negotiations between the United States and Iran. In markets, analysts say that despite President Trump’s willingness to reach a deal, the gap between the two sides’ demands remains wide, leaving the chances of a breakthrough uncertain.

According to Reuters on the 24th, senior Israeli officials assessed that President Trump is pushing for an agreement to end conflict in the Middle East.

Senior Israeli officials said, "President Trump is showing a willingness to reach an agreement to end hostilities in the Middle East." However, they added that "Iran is unlikely to accept U.S. demands."

U.S. demands are reported to include limits on Iran’s nuclear program and ballistic-missile development. The talks have been suspended since the U.S.-Israel military operation against Iran began on the 28th of last month.

President Trump said the previous day on social media that he had held "very good and productive talks to completely end hostilities in the Middle East." Iran, however, pushed back, saying that "no negotiations took place."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he believes it is possible to forge an agreement that achieves the war’s objectives by leveraging gains made by U.S. and Israeli forces.
