"Even if ceasefire talks proceed, the war will continue"

Speculation is growing that the United States could hold a senior-level meeting with Iran as early as the 26th.
U.S. online news outlet Axios reported on the 24th (local time), citing sources, that "the U.S. and mediators are discussing the possibility of holding senior-level peace talks with Iran as early as the 26th."
Axios said that "for now, they are waiting for Iran’s response," adding that "if the meeting materializes, Vice President J.D. Vance is likely to participate."
Previously, the U.S. was reported to have delivered, via Pakistan, a list of demands containing 15 clauses. Sources said the U.S. demands are largely the same as those during the nuclear talks with Iran in Geneva.
However, Axios explained that communication is proving difficult as the Iranian government is in disarray. It also added that because the Trump administration wants to negotiate while continuing the war, the conflict will continue for another 2 to 3 weeks regardless of whether talks take place.
