Iran is said to have rejected a US ceasefire proposal.

According to Walter Bloomberg on the 25th (local time), Iran’s state-run Fars News reported that Iran rejected the US ceasefire proposal that day. Fars News said Iran conveyed its position that it will not negotiate with a party that has violated existing agreements.

Earlier, the United States was reported to have recently delivered a “one-month ceasefire” proposal to Iran along with a list of 15 demands. The New York Times (NYT) and others reported that Pakistan, which shares a border with Iran, served as the intermediary for the proposal. The demands reportedly included immediately shipping Iran’s uranium stockpile overseas and suspending operations at all enrichment facilities within one month.

Iran’s military also strongly denied that day that the United States and Iran were holding talks to end the war. Khatam al-Anbiya, the central military headquarters that coordinates the Iranian armed forces, said that day, “We never compromise with people like you (the United States),” adding, “Do not call defeat an ‘agreement.’”
