X, the social media platform owned by Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has recently hired a cryptocurrency expert.
According to CoinDesk on the 25th (local time), X recently hired Benji Taylor, former chief product officer (CPO) at Aave Labs, as its head of design. Taylor, a founder of the crypto wallet Family, also recently served as head of design at Base, Coinbase’s in-house blockchain.
Taylor said on X that day, “I’m honored to lead design at X.” He added, “(X is) the most important platform in the world,” saying, “I don’t think there’s a more exciting place to build the future together.”
In the market, analysts say Taylor’s hire could be a move made with the launch of X Money in mind. X plans to roll out its in-house payments service, X Money, as early as next month. CoinDesk reported, “As X expands into payments and financial services, it has hired a new head of design with extensive experience developing crypto products,” adding, “However, there has still been no mention from X regarding blockchain and cryptocurrency components of X Money.”
